Heather's tile

I recently completed a clay tile for my friend, Heather.  I had the tile finished a couple of years ago but lost track of where it was.  I painted it this week.  I used air dry clay, acrylic paint and a sealer on top.

Andy Warhol Inspired

We students created POP art inspired paintings.  This was the example I created.  I used this lesson for my 4-12 grade students.  They love Pop Art, the bright colors and the references to products they use everyday.

Robert Indiana Inspired Book

Here are photos of the example I created for my students.  We studied Robert Indiana art and life.  Students created a book using personal words, numerals and symbols.  I originally got the idea for the lesson from Dick Blick Art Supplies website.  My son was the inspiration for my example.

Recent work completed

Hi.  I've created a series of drawings with a theme of Trees.  The media I used was Ebony graphite pencil, Sharpie markers in black, silver and gold.  I'm very happy with the results.

Life gets in the way of art

I haven't posted or worked on anything since school started after Labor Day.  This often happens to me as I put all my effort into starting the school year off right.  I also have been taking classes toward a Reading License.  These classes have been intensive and use all my free time in order for me to do well.  I am looking forward for a break between classes, beginning in 4 weeks.  In the meantime, I have been running, drawing when I can, taking care of my son, and husband (who spent a week in the hospital recently)!

Shaded Flower Style Drawing

I used Ebony pencil and Sharpie.  I utilized my compass for this one!  I limited the use of the stark black and white.
